The Fahrenheit 451 Jacket Design Contest



In celebration of the upcoming 60th anniversary of Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, Simon & Schuster invites you to design a new cover for this iconic classic.


Rules

• The Submission must be in jpeg format.
• The Submission must be in English.
• The Submission must be an original jacket design for the 60th anniversary edition of the classic novel, FAHRENHEIT 451, by Ray Bradbury.
• You may submit up to three (3) entries. Submissions must be different and not substantially similar.
• Participation open only to legal residents of the fifty United States or the District of Columbia who are 18 years or older as of date of entry.

  • I used multiple levels of quotes here. Up front we have Fahrenheit 451 itself; in the middleground are some literary quotes about burning, fire, et al; in the background are Millay, Whitman and Faulkner*, and any fan of Bradbury’s novel can tell you why I chose them.* What bit of Faulkner I could use, anyway, given the copyright. I dropped the title of “The Sound and the Fury” (a twist on Shakespeare) and the Agamemnon quote that spawned the title of “As I Lay Dying”.
